Rev. John Gregg Fee (1816-1901) was born the eldest son of a slave holding Bracken County, Kentucky family. As a child and young adult, John Fee enjoyed many social advantages provided and sustained by the institution of slavery, however to the ire of his father, Fee frequently interceded for the welfare of his father’s slaves. Later in life Rev. John Gregg Fee broke established abolitionist focuses churches in Kentucky showing his commitment to ending slavery in its entirety.
