Duane Linklater: What Now? The Politics of Land
August 31 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm| Free
Duane Linklater, an Omaskêko Ininiwak artist from Moose Cree First Nation, presents a public program at Art in General exploring visual culture, the politics of display, and indigenous identity. Focusing on a Cree object currently on public view in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Linklater will offer critical analysis on how cultural institutions shape our public understanding of objects, identities and the politics of land. This program was funded in part by a Humanities New York Action Grant.
