Incorrigibles – A Screening and Community Conversation
January 24, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm| Free
This film and community conversation is a creative platform for the public and community members in Brooklyn and NYC to engage with the complexities of juvenile justice and child services for teenage girls over time. With women who were formerly incarcerated at the New York State Training School for Girls (1904-1974) leading the dialogue after the screening, we hope to open a dialogue about what has changed – and what hasn’t in youth justice for girls in New York using the past to shed light on the present through art, media, and storytelling. This program was funded in part by a Humanities New York Action Grant.
