Community Conversation w/ Civics4Action: Community & Environment

April 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Humanities New York will continue its Online Community Conversations series in April with “Community & Environment,” a discussion about the collision of culture, science, and global warming. What do you think it will take to make great strides in combating climate change? What are some of the cultural forces shaping the climate debate? How might we use history and the past to navigate the climate crisis?

This online conversation, like all of our Community Conversations, will use a single brief text to spark the conversation. This text will be provided to registrants in a future email.

Last year HNY curated a reading list that examines the complex relationships between culture, science, and the natural environment. Feel free to revisit this list if you would like. Each selection is available online, free of charge.

This conversation is held in partnership with Civics4Action, a nonpartisan collaborative in the Greater Southern Tier of New York that expands civics learning to engage, educate, and empower. Civics4Action envisions every person contributing to the community’s and to the nation’s common good. Learn more at civics4action.org.
