First Responders: Then and Now
August 7 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pmFree
We will host a series of lectures to supplement a newly written exhibit about the Irish Great Hunger of 1845-1850 and how the care of those refugees often cost medical personnel and religious staff at the ports, their lives. We will discuss the impact of disease, contagion, and spread on a community and compare it with today’s pandemic. We will host an exhibition from the Great Hunger Museum in Quinnipiac to complement the exhibition and lecture series.
