Incorrigibles Teen Workshop

Are you a young, self-identified woman interested in expressing yourself through the written and spoken word? We are looking for curious people between the ages of 14 and 19 from Newburgh willing to engage in intergenerational exchange and self-discovery. You will meet women who were confined at the NY State Training School for Girls in their teens and explore archival material concerning young women (including a young Ella Fitzgerald) who were sent to this institution that operated from 1904–1975 in Hudson, NY.  Workshop activities include story-sharing, written expression, and art-making.

All you need is courage and comfortable clothes—no prior experience necessary. Lunch and a small stipend provided. Space is limited.
