Intersection of Contemporary African American Poetry and Hip Hop

A performance poet of notable recognition will emcee this Open Mic poetry reading event. The emcee will connect the literary and historical aspects of Hip-Hop poetry performances to current poetry trends and will read their own poetry. Collaboration with Westbury High School students, Long Island. The public is invited to read their own Hip-Hop poetry. Participant readers must pre-register for Open Mic. The event will be a hybrid – zoom and onsite live-stream for a small gathering. Instructions for pre-registration sign-ups will be posted on our website.
