Jazz & the LGBTQ+ Experience through the Lens of James Baldwin
June 20 @ 12:00 pmFree
NJMH will present a live and virtual three-part series (two lecture-discussions and one performance) highlighting intersections among jazz, race, and the LGBTQ+ experience using the viewpoints and teachings found in the writings and commentary of James Baldwin. More than ever as our nation grapples to cope with the best ways to navigate our many differences and struggles to find unity, NJMH seeks to provide programming that uses jazz and its rich history of lending voice to the marginalized as a vehicle that provokes thought, change and understanding among people.
