Films from The Soul of Nations Indigenous International: Green Architecture Project

The Soul of Nations Foundation is an organization that aims to uplift Indigenous Nations and Black communities through the arts, policy research and scholarship. In January, the Jewish Museum will partner with Soul of Nations to feature two experimental films made by artists participating in their fellowship program, the Indigenous International: Green Architecture Project. Over a one-year cross-cultural virtual exchange Indigenous artists from Bolivia and the American Southwest created works focused on the concept of home, sovereignty, and environemtnal stability.

UTA – KUYA: Back Home explores the imaginative theme of being able to walk without prejudice, without borders, and without a sense of time.

American Indians of The Southwest is a three-part experimental film that explores the current and ongoing social lifestyle of Indigenous people in the Southwest and challenges preconceived notions of Indianness.

Join the live virtual Q&A and illuminating conversation with artists Wara Vargas Lara, Salvador Molina, Fatima Choque, and Tytianna Harris on January 13, 2022 at 11 am EST.

Films available upon free registration. To register, email [email protected]
