Quaker Days

Two-day collaboration with Macedon Historical Society/Macedon Academy with activities on Saturday, June 18 at Macedon Academy including 1816 Farmington Quaker Meetinghouse Museum-organized 4-person panel discussion, tentatively titled: “Carrying on the Vision: Quakers and Social Justice in Upstate New York Today”. Activities Sunday, 6/19, will be at Farmington Friends Meetinghouse and at the 1816 FQMM site, which lie across the road from one another. These events will include open house at the1816 Meetinghouse, an outdoor canopy hosting meet-and-greet with 1816 board members and volunteers, light refreshments, activites for children, and offering local historic driving tour booklets, commemorative mugs and tee shirts. There will be a nature trail dedication, a peace vigil, and a lecture and Q & A (ASL interpretation provided) by SUNY Oswego professor emerita Judith Wellman, tentatively titled: “‘The Promotion of Truth and Practical Goodness’: Seneca Falls, Women’s Rights and Race.”
