Writing the Watershed
September 18 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 pm$15
This is a literary and environmental humanities “festival” that provides a full day of humanities programming dedicated to writing about “place”. Workshops on memoir writing and digital humanities will be offered free of charge to the public, and speakers and panel discussions will take place to explore how writers use the idea of a sense of place in their creative non-fiction writing and in their work in the digital humanities. A culminating “illustrated” lecture will close the day with fiddler and singer/songwriter Sara Milonovich and songwriter and musician Reggie Harris. Both of these professional performers use their own sense of place and their location in the Mohawk Valley of New York as inspiration. They will both talk about their work and perform selected pieces.
