In advance of the new year and a number of exciting developments including a website redesign and streamlined grants offerings, we’re proud to present a new brand aesthetic.

2024 Humanities Centers Initiative Grants Awarded
15 graduate students have been awarded a total of $60,000 in Humanities Centers Initiative (HCI) grants. The HCI grant is given on an annual basis to humanities students based in New York, in partnership with nine state universities. Explore the full list of projects.
2024 PIHP Grants Awarded
Humanities New York is pleased to announce that 20 organizations across the state have received grants totaling $474,428 as part of the Post-Incarceration Humanities Partnership (PIHP): a cohort-based program that supports organizations that incorporate the humanities into their work of serving formerly incarcerated individuals and their families.

Humanities New York is delighted to announce Action Grant funding for 22 organizations across seven regions of New York State.
Action Grants award $6500 to $10,000 to non-profits to bring to life programs that promote the exchange of knowledge, skills, stories, and ideas on themes endemic—and important to—their local communities.

Humanities New York Awards 38 Action Grants Across NYS for Public Programs on Indigenous History, Incarceration, Immigrant Culture, and More
HNY today announced $188,023 in summer Action grants to 38 organizations for innovative public humanities offerings, which will take place primarily in autumn 2022. Awards were made to tax-exempt entities in nine regions of the state, and are regrants of funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
