Action Grants

$6,500 to $10,000 for larger projects that get audiences exploring ideas with others in their community

Vision Grants

$500 to $1,500 for planning a new public-facing humanities project

Quick Grants

$500 to $1,500 for a new public-facing humanities project

GRANT CYCLES

Action Grants have a semi-annual application window; Quick and Vision Grants have rolling deadlines—decisions are made the month following submission of the proposal every month of the year.

Grantees may receive either: one Quick Grant, one Action Grant, or one Post-Incarceration Humanities Partnership award per calendar year. Vision Grants for separate projects may be awarded in the same year.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Be a New York State non-profit organization, municipality, or tribal government
Have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)
Show a minimum of a 1:1 match to HNY requested funds with either cash or in-kind funds in request budget
