HNY WELCOMES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Wendy S. Walters‘ current projects address the postindustrial city, intersections between writing and design, and organic form in arguments for the essay. She is the author of a book of prose, Multiply/Divide: On the American Real and Surreal, named a best book of the year by Buzzfeed, Flavorwire, Literary Hub, The Root, and Huffington Post. She is also the author of two books of poems: Troy, Michigan and Longer I Wait, More You Love Me. In 2018-19 she was artist-in-residence at BRIClab in Brooklyn. Other work appears in The Normal School, Fourth Genre, Full Bleed, Flavorwire, and Harper’s among many others. Walters has been awarded fellowships and residencies from Mass MoCA, New York Foundation for the Arts, The Ford Foundation, MacDowell, Yaddo, The Smithsonian Institution, and Bread Loaf. For Academic Year 19-20, she is Visiting Associate Professor of Nonfiction Writing in the School of the Arts at Columbia.

Bridget Williams was born in Houston, Texas, but has lived in New York the vast majority of her life. Williams grew up and attended high school in Buffalo, New York, before moving to New Orleans and then New York City for college. During college, Williams started a small business focused on graphic and publication design for the food and hospitality business, which eventually became an event production business. After a few years, Williams moved back to Buffalo to work in the family business founded by her father. Since moving back to Buffalo, Williams has attended the University at Buffalo School of Management, earning a Masters in Business Administration, and University at Buffalo School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor. Williams was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in June, 2019.
